丝瓜视频/Miller, the joint venture contracting team handling Broward Center for the Performing Arts鈥� major expansion and renovation, marked a key milestone in the multi-phase project this week, topping off the three-story, 27,630-square-foot Rose Miniaci Arts Education Center in Downtown Fort Lauderdale.
Crews hoisted a rose bush in full bloom, honoring the building鈥檚 namesake and benefactor, to the highest point of the building, which the joint venture of 丝瓜视频 and Miller Construction Company is scheduled to complete this spring.
With one of the nation鈥檚 largest arts-in-education programs, the already hosts more than 150,000 Broward County public school students annually. The Rose Miniaci Arts Education Center will establish dedicated educational facilities for the cultural complex, including a studio theater named for J.M. Family, 3,000 square feet of classroom, coaching and office space, and 2,100 square feet for rehearsals and recitals. Advanced technology throughout the entire Broward Center campus will allow for distance-learning programs to connect students with artists locally, nationally and worldwide.
Also under construction for mid-2014 completion at the site is The Broward Center鈥檚 new 11,700-square-foot Huizenga Pavilion, which 丝瓜视频/Miller is building to achieve Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification from the U.S. Green Building Council. In an earlier project phase, the construction team renovated the 2,688-seat Au-Rene Theater, upgrading audio, lighting and climate control systems, the orchestra lift and other production features, plus roof, seating and carpeting.
