Starbucks Coffee Company (Starbucks) is making a significant corporate entry into Nashville, having signed a lease for all 250,000 square feet of Class A office space available within Peabody Union, a dynamic mixed-use destination alongside the Cumberland River in downtown Nashville within the South Bank neighborhood.

“Starbucks is an outstanding brand with a long history of positively impacting the communities where they do business. They are the ideal partner and corporate anchor of Peabody Union to further energize our blossoming South Bank downtown neighborhood. We’re immensely proud to welcome them and are eager to see them inspire and nurture our community in the years to come.”
Ray Hensler of Hensler Development.

Starbucks’ 250,000-square-foot office building at Peabody Union is connected to Olive at Peabody Union, an award-winning 27-story residential tower, and offers two acres of walkable, art-forward public commons that include 50,000 square feet of interconnected retail, dining, and entertainment. The development features abundant green spaces, breezy walkways, and access to the riverfront and greenways.
“Welcoming Starbucks is incredible for Peabody Union and Nashville as a whole,” said Soultana Reigle, Managing Director and Head of U.S. Equity for PGIM’s real estate business. “Peabody Union was envisioned as a transformative mixed-use development that benefits from its excellent location within an emerging neighborhood and offers unimpeded permanent views of the Cumberland River. With Starbucks as a partner, everything we have sought to do within this development is now elevated.”

Starbucks’ corporate presence will further catalyze the 125-acre South Bank district. The growing area was dubbed South Bank by developers, landowners, and community stakeholders in recent years, as they increasingly felt a need to distinguish it from neighboring downtown districts.
“To see a company of Starbucks’ caliber — one that could land anywhere in the country — gravitate to the neighborhood vision of South Bank and Peabody Union, and want to become an active, central part of it, validates the vision so many stakeholders have had for the area for years. We’re proud to have seen the vision early and invested in Peabody Union to position Nashville to land such a transformational new corporate steward.”
said Jeff McDonough, Chief Development Officer of ˿Ƶ.

The vision for Peabody Union is a walkable, mixed-use destination along the Cumberland River. It is a five-acre curated collection of residential, retail, and dining where residents, workers, and visitors alike can gather, relax, and connect in meaningful ways. Development partners Hensler Development, ˿Ƶ Corporation, and PGIM developed Peabody Union to deliver on that a new vision for downtown that centers on connectivity and livability. Starbucks’ lease is a significant milestone that validates the vision for the project, neighborhood and the city.
